The Caribbean nation St Vincent and the Grenadines, which hosts plenty of domestic cricket tournaments every year, has launched a new tournament – Vincy T10 Carnival.
The tournament opener pits Obed McCoy-led Divers and Sunil Ambris’ Breakers. Hikers, Rangers, Explorers, and Strikes, too, are in action on Vincy T10 MatchDay 1.
Divers vs Breakers (Players to Watch Out for)
Divers
Obed McCoy (BWL): The West Indies international had an impressive start in 2019 Caribbean T20 before an injury ruled him out of the rest of the tournament. He had claimed nine wickets in five matches, including a four-wicket haul against Amazon.
Asif Hooper (ALLR): The leg spinner grabbed 13 wickets in seven matches in the 2019 St. Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG) T20 tournament. Hooper also claimed a sensational 45 wickets, which included a seven-wicket haul, and three fifers, in the 2020 SVG Premier Division League, the two-day tournament.
Braxie Browne (BWL): Though Browne is known for his bowling exploits, he scored a sensational 57 off 16 balls in the last year’s SVG T20 tournament. He hit eight sixes and helped his team set a target of 243.
Shem Browne (BAT): Browne hit a hundred & and a fifty in four matches in the 2019 SVG T20 tournament.
Romano Pierre (BAT): Pierre has scored around 300 runs from nine innings in the SVG Premier Division League.
Geron WylIie (BWL): Wyllie had claimed 17 wickets in the 2020 SVG Premier Division League. He was the third leading wicket-taker last year, with 21 wickets.
Breakers
Sunil Ambris (BAT): Though Ambris has struggled in the T20s, he has established himself in 50-over cricket. The opening batsman scored his first ODI hundred in 2019 and scored a run-ball 60 against Sri Lanka in March.
Rickford Walker (BAT): Walker has two T20 centuries to his name and hit a swashbuckling 170 in SVG Premier Division League recently.
Delorn Johnson (BWL): Johnson has picked up 18 wickets in 14 innings at an economy rate of 5.49 in T20 matches.
Javid Harry (BWL): The spinner was the joint leading wicket-taker in SVG’s First Division 50-over competition in 2019. He had clinched 22 wickets, including a five-wicket haul.
Jeremy Layne (ALLR): The youngster, who has led SVG national team in a U19 Championship in 2017, has scored a fifty and has claimed 15 wickets in 10 innings in T20 cricket.

Hikers
Derson Maloney (BAT): Maloney scored a half-century on his debut in West Indies’s domestic first-class cricket competition in 2020. He also played in the 50-over tournament in 2019, scoring 193 runs from seven innings.
Dillon Douglas (BAT): Douglas has hit four half-centuries and has a strike rate of 133 in T20 matches. He had recently made his debut in West Indies first-class cricket.
Dean Browne (ALLR): Browne has scored more than 600 runs and picked up 24 wickets in 22 T20 matches.
Othneil Lewis (BWL): The spinner has picked up 40 wickets in 25 T20 matches. Lewis has also grabbed a seven-wicket haul, 7/10, in a T20 match.
Rawdon Bentick (BAT): Bentick has scored three fifties and averages 32 in T20 matches. He also hit 253 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 152 in last year’s SVG 50-over tournament.
Jeremy Haywood (BWL): Haywood picked up 16 wickets in nine innings in the recently concluded SVG Premier Division.
Rangers
Kesrick Williams (BWL): Kesrick has taken 41 wickets in 25 T20 International matches. The West Indies pacer picked up a career-best of 4/28 against Bangladesh.
Hyron Shallow (BAT): Shallow has scored 548 runs, including two centuries, in 14 T20 matches. He was also the top-run scorer, 481 runs, and the second leading wicket-taker, 21 wickets, in 2020 SVG Premier Division.
Romel Currency (BAT): Currency has been a consistent performer in all three formats in domestic cricket. He has scored close to 500 runs and averages 44 in T20s.
Atticus Browne (BAT): Browne hit three half-centuries in the SVG T20 tournament in 2019.
Romario Bibby (BWL): Bibby has taken 21 wickets in 13 matches and has picked up two four-wicket hauls in T20s.
Kenneth Dember (ALLR): Dember has registered a fifty in T20 cricket, and has an economy rate of 5.38.

Deron Greaves (BAT): Greaves has registered a T20 hundred and a half-century. He has also taken seven wickets in seven innings T20s.
Darius Martin (BWL): Martin has picked up 18 wickets in 17 T20 innings and has also claimed 40 wickets in 19 limited-over matches.
Shammon Hooper (ALLR): Hooper has claimed 29 wickets, including a four-wicket haul, from 24 T20 matches. He has also hit two fifties.
Kensley Joseph (ALLR): Joseph has hit three half-centuries in the 2019 SVG T20 tournament and had a strike rate of 164.89.
Strikers
Keron Cottoy (ALLR): Cottoy made an impression in 2019 Caribbean T20 despite playing just four matches. He and Fabian Allen stitched together a crucial 94-run partnership, and Cottoy claimed the important wicket of Glenn Phillips in St Kitts’ victory over Jamaica.
Gidron Pope (BAT): Pope has scored two centuries and two fifties in T20s. He has also claimed ten wickets in nine innings.
Ronald Scott (BAT): Scott has scored six fifties in 13 innings and has a strike rate of 167 in T20s.
Rasheed Frederick (BWL): Frederick has picked up 12 wickets at an economy rate of 5.52 in the 2019 SVG T20 tournament.
