German League: Bremen vs Leverkusen

Posted on May 18, 2020

The weekend witnessed pulsating action in German football. And MatchDay 26 concludes with Bremen hosting Leverkusen. Here’s the fantasy football preview of Bremen vs Leverkusen.

Relegation-threatened vs Top-four Hopefuls

SVW Bremen, who finished eighth in 2018-19 season, is nine points off automatic safety in German League but has played two matches less than other teams. They have scored joint-fewest goals, 27, and conceded joint-highest goals, 55, this season.

The visitors B Leverkusen could go within a point of fourth-placed Leipzig with a victory over Bremen. They are unbeaten in their last five German League games.

Head-to-Head (German league 2019-20)

26.10.2019: Leverkusen 2-2 Bremen

The Key Players

SVW Bremen

Kevin Vogt (DEF): Bremen has only registered three points from a possible 21 since Vogt’s debut in January 2020. The fans would be hoping that Vogt’s experience could reverse the club’s fortunes.
Maximilian Eggestein (MID): Eggestein has been one of the few bright sparks for Bremen this season. The 23-year-old has linked up well with Davy Klaassen, who is serving a one-match suspension.

Leonardo Bittencourt (MID): Bittencourt had three of his attempts denied by the woodwork this season. He assisted the opening goal in Bremen’s last competitive fixture in German League.

Milot Rashica (FWD): The winger is Bremen’s top-scorer this season with seven goals. He scored a match-winning brace against Wolfsburg in January and has grabbed four assists in the 2019-20 German League so far.

Josh Sargent (FWD): Sargent scored in the 3rd minute in Bremen’s last match before the break. The 20-year-old or Davie Selke (FWD) could partner Rashica upfront against Leverkusen.
