Tell us a little bit about yourself – where you grew up, went to school and what else you do (working or studying) apart from playing Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)?
Hi, my name is Sagar Goud (play by the name Sagargoud57 on HalaPlay). I hail from a small village in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. I completed my higher secondary education a few years ago, and now I own a dairy farm.
When did you start playing on HalaPlay? And how did you come to know about it?
My HalaPlay journey started in December last year. It was an advertisement on the internet that grabbed my attention. And I was immediately hooked.
Tell us about your journey so far – the difficulties and success you had playing DFS at Halaplay.
For me, playing DFS is like being on the pitch. Facing the first ball on your debut could be a nerve-wracking experience. But once when you get past that stage, things will flow smoothly.
Difficulties are part and parcel of life. I learned from my mistakes, and it has helped me bring success.
What kind of preparation and research goes behind while choosing your players for your team? Do you have a set of criteria for choosing players?
I spent a quite a lot of time researching about teams and players before the match. I have downloaded plenty of apps which give the latest information on players and key things related to the match.
My criteria for picking players is the recent form and their past performances against the opposition.
What is your strategy while choosing a captain for the team?
Of all the decisions selecting the captain is the toughest and challenging one. It’s usually a choice that I don’t want to make a mess of, so I pick an in-form player as my skipper.
Which was your best day on HalaPlay, and what do you remember about it?
There are many memorable moments. But if I have to pick one, it’s 15th March of 2019 when I had won ₹73,000.
Our players have purchased cars, cameras, phones with the money they have won. If you don’t mind, can you share what did you do with the cash prizes from HalaPlay?
I have purchased gifts for my family and donated few of my winnings to the needy.
Can you name some of your favourite Leagues on HalaPlay?
I have played and won in almost all Leagues in HalaPlay. But my favourite ones are those with entry fee namely ₹199, ₹99, ₹50 and ₹25.
Most of our DFS players use HalaPlay app. Can you share your experience on playing in the app?
I used to play on the website in the early days. But ever since I have downloaded the app, I have been playing from my phone. It is very user-friendly and less complicated compared to other fantasy platform apps.
I very much love the playing lineup feature on the app. I am glad that I don’t have to go to any other place to get playing 11 information.
Where do you see yourself down the road in regards to DFS? Do you want it to be a long-term thing for you?
I always look at the road ahead and want DFS to be a long-term thing for me.
