Here we go!
Please do describe yourself to our readers. Where you grew up, what are you pursuing currently and what you did before playing Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)?
My name is Satish Kumar Chandra, currently working as Chief Commercial Inspector in South East Central Railway at Bilaspur. I grew up in Korba (Chhattisgarh), studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya. I got the railway service at an early age of 19. I’ve done Graduation and Post Graduation as a private student.
When did you start playing on HalaPlay and how were you introduced to it?
I started playing on Halaplay around 2 years back. Before this I used to play Fantasy Cricket on other platforms, one of my friends had introduced me to HalaPlay and since then I’ve been a regular player here.
How has your DFS journey been till now? Tell us about few of your struggles and successes.
I have played Fantasy Cricket on a lot of sites, the big ones and all the other well knows are checked for me. Talking about my performance on other platforms, I had won grand leagues couple of times but then I also lost lot of money post that. After that I moved to HalaPlay and right now I can confidently say that the Cash flow is positive, comfortably.
What is the criteria for choosing players (Current form, past records etc.)?
I mainly select the players who have noticeable ongoing form, be it any format of the game. In addition to this, I also go for 2 players based on my gut feeling, players who are underdogs at the moment but have the ability to change any game single handedly. They are the ones who create a massive difference in the points table and hence it becomes a very crucial strategy.
What is it that you generally look for in a player to be the Captain of your team?
Generally I play with 4-5 teams in the biggest league, so I pick 4-5 different captains, each team gets a different leader and that decision is taken on the basis of current as well as past form in the similar conditions.
Which leagues are your favourite on HalaPlay?
I mainly play in the grand leagues with entry fee of ₹50, ₹99, ₹199 and ₹350.
Which was your best day on HalaPlay and what do you remember about it?
I don’t remember the exact day but I do remember the grandness of it. I had won a grand league of entry fee ₹199 and got ₹1Lakh. It was a Women’s Cricket match.
How has your experience been with the Season Passes and what is it that you like the most about them?
I have purchased the Season Pass some 3 times. Strongly believe that it’s a very good concept and a brilliant feature for Fantasy Sports fanatics. Along with the bonus, free entries, discounts, I received a HalaPlay Jersey, Cap and a T-shirt of very good quality.
We see that you have played both Fantasy Cricket & Fantasy Football, how would you rate them in terms of excitement and competitiveness?
I have played both but I have limited (or should I say almost none) knowledge of Football, so most of the times I play Fantasy Cricket only.
If I’ve to share my opinion, I’d say, “Both are very exciting and they require similar level of knowledge, experience and research”.
If you had one piece of advice to offer to a player new to DFS in terms of strategy, what would it be and why?
Compete in only those matches wherein you have considerable knowledge of the players, don’t play each and every match just for the sake of playing.
I’m of the opinion that, “Playing every match won’t make a difference, doing research will”.
Do you want DFS to be a long-term thing for you and why?
I love playing Daily Fantasy Sports (especially Fantasy Cricket as mentioned above). It has become my passion and is an integral part of my life now and so I’ll surely continue playing it in the long term.
