Read out the composition to know more about his memorable journey and some useful tactics for raising the competition level for your contemporaries.
Please do describe yourself to our readers. Where you grew up, what are you pursuing currently and what you did before playing Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)?
I am Shankar Vasant Shingare (username: shankarshingare) from Pune, Maharashtra. I completed my Engineering in Information Technology and currently I’m working as a Software Engineer.
I have been playing Fantasy Cricket on HalaPlay since 5th Feb 2018. Before that I used to play on other platforms.
It has been pretty satisfying till now since the day I started playing on HalaPlay. As mentioned, I used to play on other platforms before but never really got the success as compared to what I got here.
Talking about the struggles, my wife used to complain a lot seeing the time I used to spend in the nights for the preparation and match analysis. Glad that everything is well managed now and I’ve made a habit of spending significant time on weekends for the research and analysis.
I spend around 2 hours every night for the match analysis, that’s a sufficient time bracket for me to gather enough information for the upcoming match and draft teams well before the match commences.
Once lineup is out, I spend another 30 minutes to check the pitch/weather report and make necessary edits to the team (if any).
I consider current form and consistency of the players. But these are not the only factors, I also look for past records and skillset of the two teams.
Then there are some players who perform well in certain conditions and against specific opposition, so I make it a point of not losing them and that sometimes creates a difference with the other players because most of them go with the players’ current form.
It depends on the format of the game. Like for T20 cricket, my top preference would mostly be a top order batsman. For ODIs, I generally go with an All Rounder as they can give points in multiple ways and for Test cricket, I prefer a spinner or a fast bowler depending on the pitch.
Simply Wow! Season Passes and Deposit offers are some of the great benefits you get on HalaPlay. It’s a very useful feature for the regular Fantasy Sports players. They add a lot of value and hence should be utilised the maximum one can.
I play all the leagues where I can apply the ‘4+1/6+1 Offer’ by entering different team combinations, along with 3 member leagues.
Invest your money wisely would be the foremost advice for the newbies. Play on platforms where you get the lineups and the time to edit your teams after the toss because if you’ve chosen players who’re not in the playing XI then it’s highly likely that your chances of winning will marginally drop. That is why HalaPlay is seen as ‘The Stop’ for all Fantasy Sports freaks.
Most important thing, “Never give up, your day will surely come”.
I haven’t started playing with friends as yet but definitely plan to do that in the near future as I’ve referred HalaPlay to a lot of friends and quite a few of them have already started playing on it.
