I have won over ₹13 lakh playing Fantasy Cricket & Fantasy Football

Posted on December 12, 2018

We have seen in the recent couple of years how Fantasy Cricket has made the daily life of the millennials engaging along with being massively rewarding in terms of the incentives and cash awards. It is hard to believe but you cannot deny the fact that there are numerous people who have actually made a fortune playing Fantasy Sports on a day to day basis. This time we’ll introduce you to someone who has actually made a fortune playing Fantasy Cricket & Fantasy Football on HalaPlay. With his determination and the zeal of nurturing skills, he has gone on to win over ₹13 Lakh on the platform.

It’s been a tremendous journey for him, the experience and learnings gained are immense. Read on to know more about his game tactic and personal opinions on the different aspects of Fantasy Cricket & Fantasy Football.

Please do describe yourself to our readers. Where you grew up, what are you pursuing currently and what you did before playing Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS)?

Myself R Krishna Murthi, from Ooty, Tamil Nadu. I finished my schooling from Thums Convent Thummanatti school in Ooty. I have done BSc. in Physical Education from Sri Pushpam College, Thanjavur and post that moved to Coimbatore Maruthi College of Physical Education for Post Graduation.

How did you come across HalaPlay and when did you start playing on it?

I have been playing on HalaPlay since January 2018. One of my friend who was a regular player on the platform introduced me to HalaPlay website.

How has your DFS journey been till now? Tell us about few of your struggles and successes.

The journey has throughout been full of ups and downs. You can’t expect everyday to be in your favour, there will be hard days, tough times will surely test your nerves and patience.

I kept my confidence and faith intact and never gave up until I started winning in the games.

What kind of preparation and research goes behind drafting the teams?

I follow few channels regularly (like Cricinfo, Cricbuzz, Twitter) and keep myself updated with all the relevant news and updates. Along with this, I also refer the history of players to get an idea of their previous latest performances.

How do you pick the players? What factors do you generally consider?

This is a tricky question and it’s bit difficult to paint a specific picture or tell you the exact pattern. Generally, I refer previous match performance and records, and those who failed in the last set of matches are given more preference over others. But this strategy can easily backfire anytime and it usually does a lot of time. I keep trying different tactics, whatever works on a given day and in a specific situation can be the mantra but one needs to be cognizant of the fact that conditions keep changing so don’t rely on any fixed criteria.

We see that you have played both Fantasy Cricket & Fantasy Football, how would you rate them in terms of excitement and competitiveness?

Fantasy Cricket is much better than Fantasy Football for me as I’ve noticed that the top position in Fantasy Cricket is generally owned by a single player whereas it gets shared between multiple positions in Fantasy Football and hence the top payout gets divided.

What is it that you generally look for in a player to be the Captain of your team?

I usually go with a batsman who plays at Number 3 or 4 in almost all the formats. For Football, my strategy keeps changing depending on the tournament, home team, etc.

Which was your best day on HalaPlay? What is it that keeps reminding you about it?

It was on a day of England Vs Sri Lanka ODI match when I had won nearly ₹1,20,000 in the match and that has been my biggest winning in a single day, till date.

How has your experience been with the Season Passes and what is it that you like the most about them?

It’s been quite satisfying, undoubtedly. The incentives given are far more than the cost associated with them. My favourite is the  Silver pass.

Do you have any preferred leagues (the ones you play the most) on HalaPlay?

I generally prefer playing in the big leagues, and enter around 10 teams in each of them. Specifically if I’ve to mention then ‘Last Man Standing’ is the one that I never miss playing in.

Do you also play and compete with your friends? If yes, how is that experience different from playing with the strangers?

Yes I do play and compete with the friend who introduced me to HalaPlay. He is known by the name OotyGaneshan on the platform. It’s somewhat more exciting playing with him sometimes because of the fact that we both know each other quite well so it we can comprehend each other’s strategy/mindset to an extent. As far as the overall competition is concerned, I’d say it’s almost similar with strangers as well as with him.

What advice would you offer to a player new to DFS in terms of strategy?
Always believe your very first instinct while piking the players, don’t let doubts hinder your strategy. Have faith in the selected players and don’t hesitate if they have failed in the previous match.
Where do you see yourself down the road in regards to DFS? Do you want there to be a long-term thing for you?

It has been quite a cherishable and rewarding journey since they very first day. I’ve noticed that my game is improving day by day which is a positive sign and so it’s very important for me to keep at it and continue playing with the very best of my abilities. The long term goal is to amplify my earnings and with that lead a well luxurious life.
